Locality and Transport

There are many attractions in the locality which can be reached on foot, including the steamers covering the length of Windermere, the Aquarium of the Lake, the Lakeside-Haverthwaite steam train, the Motor Museum, Brockhole House and gardens, and Wray Castle. Within the town are the Beatrix Potter exhibition and the Old Laundry Theatre, along with many pubs and shops.

Windermere rail station has a regular service to Oxenholme on the West Coast Main Line, with onward links to London Euston, Manchester, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
